Death Cab For Cutie have shared their new song “An Arrow in the Wall.” The track was produced by John Congleton and arrives as a two-sided 12-inch vinyl record featuring the original track, as well as a remixed version by the band Chvrches. Pre-orders for the 12-inch vinyl can be found – here.

DCFC frontman Ben Gibbard said in a statement: “‘An Arrow In the Wall’ is about the warning signs all around us in the 21st century that society-at-large is in decay. he arrow lodged in the wall might have missed this time, but it would be naive to assume the next one won’t also.” Regarding the remixed version of the song, Gibbard said: “We have been good friends with Chvrches since touring together in 2019 .. they took our maudlin little dance track and turned it into a major key club banger.”

Death Cab for Cutie are also set to embark on a co-headlining tour with the Postal Service, commemorating the 20th anniversary of each band’s landmark albums: Death Cab for Cutie’s Transatlanticism , and the Postal Service’s Give Up. The tour officially launches on September 5th in Washington, D.C., and includes two sold-out nights at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden, as well as three shows at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl. Both bands will also headline Riot Fest in Chicago in September.
