Events for Thursday, Apr. 2nd 

Pre-K & Kindergarten Registration

Cedar Ridge Schools will hold Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration Thursday, April 2nd from 4pm – 7pm.  Kindergarten Registration will take place at the Elementary Cafeteria.  Pre-K Registration will be held at the Early Childhood Center.  For Kindergarten, children must be 5 years old on or before August 1st of this year.  Parents will need to bring their child’s birth certificate, Social Security card and shot record.  There will also be hot dogs and tours of the campus.  For more information, call 870-201-2577.

 

Events for Friday, Apr. 3rd 

4-H Dinner & Silent Auction

The Independence County 4-H Dinner and Silent Auction will be held Friday, April 3rd from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at UACCB, located on White Drive in Batesville.  There will be a pork loin dinner with green beans, salad, bread and dessert.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for ages 12 and under.  All proceeds will go to the Independence County 4-H.  For more information, call 870-793-8840.

 

Events for Saturday, Apr. 4th 

Easter Egg Hunt

Jacksonville’s largest Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 4th at Excell Park, located on Ray Road in Jacksonville.  All participants must arrive by 10am.  There will be egg hunts with 2,000 eggs per age group for ages toddler up to 10 years old.  The event is free and open to the public.  In the event of rain, the egg hunt will be moved to the Jacksonville Community Center.  For more information, call 501-982-4171. 

Benefit Fish Fry

The Gum Springs Fire Department will hold their Annual Fish Fry and BBQ Saturday, April 4th at 5pm at the fire department, located at 2320 Highway 267 South in Searcy.  There will be fish, BBQ and all the fixings.  Plus, there will be door prizes.  All proceeds will benefit the Gum Springs Fire Department.

 

Events for Saturday, Apr. 11th 

Easter Egg Drop

That Church Cabot will host an Easter Egg Drop Saturday, April 11th beginning at 9am at the Cabot High School Football Field.  There will be over 47,000 eggs, live entertainment and prizes.  This is a free event.

Easter Egg Hunt

That City of Greers Ferry will hold their Easter Egg Hunt 2020 Saturday, April 11th from 10am – 12 noon at the Greers Ferry City Park.  The Easter Bunn will take pictures with the kids at 10am and the egg hunt will begin at 11am.  The event is free and open to all ages.

Drive Thru Eggstravaganza

A Drive Thru Eggstravaganza will be held Saturday, April 11th at 11am at The Assembly Cabot, located at 2100 North 2nd Street in Cabot.  This is a drive thru Easter grab bag event.  Prizes and eggs will be available while supplies last.  Kids must be present to receive bags.  The Easter Bunny will also be on hand.  The event will be held rain or shine.  For more information, call 501-843-5944.

 

Events for Tuesday, Apr. 14th 

Court Postponement

Because of the COVID-19 situation and in the interest of the public’s health, the Bald Knob District Court will continue all cases that were set for April 14th until Tuesday, May 12th at 2pm.  For more information, call 501-724-5701.

Blood Drive

Benefit Dinner

The Jacob’s Place Annual Dinner will be held Tuesday, April 21st from 6pm – 8pm at the First United Methodist Church, located at 304 North Main Street in Searcy.  Everyone is invited to come out and eat, and learn more about Jacob’s Place Homeless Mission.  All proceeds will benefit Jacob’s Place.

 

Events for Saturday, Apr. 25th 

Downtown Street Festival

The Fun at 5 Points Downtown Street Festival will be held Saturday, April 25th from 10am – 9pm at 703 West Main Street in Jacksonville.  There will be a kids corner filled with inflatables, train rides and activities.  There will also be laser tag, vendors and live entertainment.  Admission and parking are free.

Free Band Concert

The White County Central Spring Band Concert will be held Thursday, April 30th at 7pm in the White County Central School Auditorium, located at 3259 Highway 157 in Judsonia.  The concert is free and open to the public.

Adventure Outdoors Expo

The Greers Ferry Lake Trails Council and the Rotary Club will sponsor the Adventure Outdoors Expo Friday, May 8th from 12 noon – 6pm and Saturday, May 9th from 9am – 5pm at the Heber Springs Community Center, located at 201 Bobbie Jean Lane in Heber Springs.  There will be indoor and outdoor vendors, demonstrations, live music, food vendors and more.  Admission is free with a small donation to the local Boy Scouts for parking.  For more information, call 501-206-5675.

Ride Like a Mountain Man

The Greers Ferry Lake Trails Council will hold their Ride Like a Mountain Man Bike Ride in conjunction with the Adventure Outdoors Expo Saturday, May 9th beginning at 8am.  There will be a 10 mile route, a 20 mile route and a 55 mile route.  There will also be a spaghetti dinner social.  Proceeds will benefit the Greers Ferry Lake Trails Council.  To sign up, visit www.BikeReg.com/rlamm.  For more information, call 501-691-0138.

Events for Saturday, May 16th 

Fishing Derby

Ward Parks and Recreation will host the 18th Annual Fishing Derby Saturday, May 16th from 8am – 12 noon at Busby Lake in Ward.  The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will stock the lake.  The fishing derby is open to all children ages 1 – 15. 

Benefit Truck, Bike & Car Show

The 6th Annual Evolution Truck, Bike and Car Show will be held Saturday, May 16th at the Arkansas State University – Beebe campus, located at 1000 West Iowa Street in Beebe.  Registration will take place from 8am – 12 noon.  Awards will be presented at 2pm.  All makes, models and years are welcome.  The entry fee will be $20 per vehicle for judging or $10 per vehicle to display only.  All proceeds will go to Patriot Guard Riders and the ASU ROTC. 

 

Events for Friday, June 5th 

Benefit Fish Fry

The 3rd Annual Feed a Senior Fish Fry Fundraiser will be held Friday, June 5th at 6pm at the Heber Springs Community Center, located at 201 Bobbie Jean Lane in Heber Springs.  The cost will be $10 per adult and $5 per child.  All proceeds will go to the Senior Center.

 

Events for Saturday, July 4th 

Fireworks Show

The Greers Ferry Chamber of Commerce will host the City of Greers Ferry Fourth of July Fireworks Saturday, July 4th at 9pm at the Greers Ferry City Park.  Everyone is invited to attend.

 

Events for Saturday, October 24th 

Benefit Car Show

The 6th Annual Shine Your Ride Truck, Bike and Car Show will be held Saturday, October 24th from 8am – 3pm at Orr Collision Center, located at 301 South Poplar in Searcy.  All makes, models and years are welcome.  The entry fee is $20 per vehicle.  All proceeds will go to the Sunshine School in Searcy.  For more information, call 501-388-2057.
