Events for Saturday, June 19th

Youth Fishing Derby

Arkansas Game & Fish and Jacksonville Parks and Recreation will sponsor the 24th Annual Youth Fishing Derby Saturday, June 19th beginning at 7am at the Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex, located at 2800 Graham Road in Jacksonville.  Fishing enthusiasts ages 15 and under are invited.  Prizes will be awarded.  Admission is free.  For more information, call 501-982-4171.

Hunter Education Class

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will offer their Hunter Education Class Saturday, June 19th from 8:30am – 6:30pm in the Independence Banquet Hall at the University of Arkansas Community College – Batesville, located at 2005 White Drive in Batesville.  Anyone born after 1968 will need to complete this class in order to hunt in Arkansas.  The class is free.  For more information, visit uaccb.coursestorm.com.

Free Children’s Yoga at the Park

Children’s Yoga at the Park will be held Saturday, June 19th beginning at 9:30am at Maxfield Park in Batesville.  Parents must stay during the class and can even participate.  This is a free event for the community.

Annual Strawberry Pageant

The Bald Knob Chamber of Commerce will hold the Annual Strawberry Pageant Saturday, June 19th at 2pm at the Bald Knob School Gymnasium.  The pageant is open to girls up to the age of 18 and boys up to the age of four.  The entry fee is $50.  The deadline for entry and practice will be Friday, June 18th at 6pm at the Bald Knob School Auditorium.  For more information, call 501-283-0999.

Blood Drive

The Arkansas Blood Institute and Cabot High School will hold a Blood Drive Wednesday, June 23rd from 9am – 3pm at the Veterans Park Event Center Community Center, located at 508 North Lincoln in Cabot.  For more information, call 501-843-3562.

 

Events for Saturday, June 26th

Fishing Derby

The Optimist Club of Searcy will hold their Free Fishing Derby Saturday, June 26th at Searcy Lake.  The derby is open to all kids ages 4 – 15 accompanied by a parent or guardian.  A kids casting contest will be held at 8am.  The Fishing Derby will begin at 9am.  Awards will be given in three age groups for the biggest fish.  There will also be a drawing for a free bicycle in each age group.  All contestant will need to bring their own bait and tackle.  There will also be free hot dogs and drinks.

 

Events for Friday, July 2nd

Freedom Fest on the Lake

The Heber Springs Area Chamber of Commerce will hold the First Annual Freedom Fest on the Lake Friday, July 2nd and Saturday, July 3rd at Sandy Beach on Greers Ferry Lake.  Activities will begin Friday, July 2nd at with a trap shoot from 9am – 5pm, followed by musical entertainment that evening.  Activities on Saturday, July 3rd will begin with a 5K race, followed by the World Championship Cardboard Boat Races at 10am.  The event will conclude with a fireworks extravaganza at 9:30pm.  Admission to the event is free.

Pangburn 4th of July Celebration

The Pangburn 4th of July Celebration will be held Saturday, July 3rd at the Pangburn City Park.  Activities will begin at 9:45am with the Annual Toilet Race, followed by the parade, opening ceremonies, a horseshoe pitching contest and live entertainment.  A free barbeque dinner will be held at 5pm and a big fireworks show will take place at 9pm. 

4th of July Extravaganza

The City of Beebe will hold their 4th of July Extravaganza Saturday, July 3rd beginning at 5:30pm at the Beebe City Park, located at #1 Ballpark Road in Beebe.  There will be live music, activities for all ages and a huge fireworks show.  Parking and admission are free.

Independence Day Family Celebration

The City of Sherwood’s Annual Independence Day Family Celebration will be held Saturday, July 3rd beginning at 6pm at Sherwood Forest, located at 1111 West Maryland Avenue in Sherwood.  There will be live music, a kids zone, a petting zoo and a huge fireworks show.  Admission is free.

Independence Day at the Bay

Independence Day at the Bay will be held Saturday, July 3rd beginning at 7:15pm at Fairfield Bay Marina.  There will be live music, followed by a huge fireworks show.  Admission to the event is free.  Everyone is invited to attend.

 

Events for Sunday, July 4th

Celebrate America

The 24th Annual Celebrate America event will be held Sunday, July 4th beginning at 4pm at Riverside Park, located at 1850 Chaney Drive in Batesville.  There will be live music, food and a big fireworks show at 9:15pm.  Admission to the event is free.

Big Bang on the Range

Jacksonville Parks and Recreation will hold Big Bang on the Range 2021 Sunday, July 4th at the Arkansas Game & Fish Trap Shooting Complex, located at 2800 Graham Road in Jacksonville.  Gates will open at 5pm with live music and fun for the kids.  There will be inflatables, a mobile gaming station, a rock climbing wall and a Spider Jump Station.  The fireworks display will begin at 9pm.  For more information, call 501-982-4171.

Searcy’s July 4th Event

Searcy’s July 4th event, “United We Stand,” will be held Sunday, July 4th from 6pm – 10pm at the Searcy Event Center, located at 1300 Higginson Street in Searcy.  There will be a petting zoo, community yard games, a salute to veterans, a live concert featuring Elvie Shane and a huge fireworks show.  Admission to the event is free.

Freedom Fest Conway 2021

Freedom Fest Conway 2021 will be held Sunday, July 4th beginning at 6:30pm at Beaverfork Lake Park, located at 20 Kinley Drive in Conway.  There will be live music, fun for the whole family and a huge fireworks show at dark.  Admission is free.

Benefit Block Party

The All Hands on Deck Block Party will be held Saturday, July 31st beginning at 10am on Main Street in Batesville.  There will be live music, food, skateboard demos, vendors and more.  All proceeds will go to help fund a local skate park.

Benefit Truck, Bike & Car Show

The 2021 Veterans Appreciation Day Truck, Bike and Car Show will be held Saturday, September 18th at McArthur Church, located at 3501 John Harden Road in Jacksonville.  Registration will be held from 8am – 11am.  All makes, models and years are welcome.  The entry fee for judging is $20.  The entry fee for display only is $10.  All proceeds will go to veterans.
