Blood Drive

Chamber of Commerce Meeting & Gala

The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their 2019 Annual Meeting and Gala “Friday Night Fever” Friday, January 25th at 6pm at the Batesville Community Center.  Outstanding businesses and individuals in the community will be recognized during the award ceremony, with dinner and entertainment to follow.  Tickets are $100 each, which includes dinner and entertainment.  For more information, call 870-793-2378.

Genealogy Program

The Independence County Library will host the genealogy program “Preserving Your Family’s Past” Saturday, January 26th at 10am in 2nd floor meeting room of the library, located at 267 East Main Street in Batesville.  The program is free and open to the public.  For more information, call 870-793-8814.

2019 Special Olympics Polar Plunge

The 2019 Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Arkansas will be held Saturday, January 26th at the Batesville Community Center, located at 1420 20th Street in Batesville.  Registration will begin at 10am and the plunge will begin at 11am.  All proceeds will go to Special Olympics Arkansas.

Anniversary Celebration Fundrasier

The Complete in Christ Recovery Center will hold their One Year Anniversary Celebration Fundraiser Saturday, January 26th at 5pm at the Complete in Christ Church, located at 3390 West Highway 36 in Searcy.  There will be live music, dinner and dessert, a silent auction, door prizes and more.  For more information, call 501-380-6673.

Scottish Classes Informational Meeting

The Lyon College Pipe Band has formed a youth group that offers bagpiping, Scottish drumming and Highland dancing to young people between the ages of 10 and 17.  The lessons will be held on Tuesday evenings at 6pm in the Scottish Heritage Building on the Lyon College campus in Batesville.  An informational meeting will be held Tuesday, January 29th at 6pm, with lessons beginning the following Tuesday.  For more information, call 870-307-7473.

Events for Friday, Feb. 1st

Winter Gala

The 2019 Main Street Batesville Winter Gala “Cut Loose, Footloose” will be held Friday, February 1st at 6:30pm in the Main Street Loft, located at 267 East Main Street in Batesville.  The theme of the party will be reminiscent of a 1980s prom.  There will be awards for the best dressed, best dance moves and more.  There will also be live music, dancing, food and a live and silent auction.  Tickets are $35 per person or $60 per couple. 

 

Events for Saturday, Feb. 2nd

7th Annual Princess and Superhero Party

The Women for Harding will hold their 7th Annual Princess and Superhero Party Saturday, February 2nd at the Heritage Auditorium on the Harding University campus in Searcy.  The doors will open at 8:30am and the event will begin at 9am.  Harding students will be dressed as your child’s favorite princesses and superheroes.  There will also be snacks, crafts and activities.  Children are encourage to wear their favorite costume.  Tickets $10 for ages 2 – 12 and $5 for ages 13 and older.  For more information, call 501-279-4276.

Youth Group Fundraiser

Charity Ball

The Junior Auxiliary of Searcy will hold their 2019 Charity Ball Saturday, March 2nd at 7pm at the Searcy Country Club.  It will be a night of music, dancing, dinner, drinks and more.  There will also be a live and a silent auction.  You must be at least 21 years old to attend.  Tickets are $65 per person or $120 per couple.  All proceeds will go to the Junior Auxiliary of Searcy.

Spring Carnival

The Searcy McRae Elementary PTO will hold their Spring Carnival Friday, April 12th at 5pm at the McRae Elementary School, located at 609 West McRae Avenue in Searcy.  There will be a cake walk, bounce houses, a duck pond, boat races, mini golf and more.  There will also be prizes and food.  Everyone is invited to come out and support the McRae Elementary School.
