Events for Friday, Apr. 16th

58th Annual Ozark Folk Festival

Mountain View’s 58th Annual Ozark Folk Festival will be held Friday night, April 16th and Saturday, April 17th on the Courthouse Square in Mountain View.  There will be live music, arts and crafts and lots of fun.  The Folk Festival parade will begin at 10am Saturday morning.  Everyone is invited to attend.  Admission is free.

Benefit Truck, Bike & Car Show

The 7th Annual Shine Your Ride Truck, Bike and Car Show to benefit the Sunshine School will be held Saturday, April 17th at 1000 Truman Baker Drive in Searcy.  Registration will be held from 8am – 11am.  The registration fee is $20 for judging and $10 for display only.  The show is open to all years, all makes and all models.  All proceeds will go to the Sunshine School in Searcy.

Benefit Plant Sale

The White County Master Gardener Plant Sale will be held Saturday, April 17th from 8am – 2pm at the White County Cooperative Extension Service, located at 2400 Old Searcy Landing Road in Searcy.  Covid guidelines will be followed.  All proceeds will fund scholarships for area students.  For more information, call 501-268-5394.

Spring County-Wide Cleanup

White County and the city of Searcy will host the Spring County-Wide Cleanup Thursday, April 22nd and Friday, April 23rd from 7:30am – 5pm and Saturday, April 24th from 8am – 2pm.  Just look for the signs on Davis Drive in Searcy.  Those participating in the cleanup must have proof of residency in White County.  A mask is recommended for check-in.  Items that will be accepted include regular size tires off the rim, appliances, scrap metal, furniture, bagged trash and all paint in dry form.  Items that will not be accepted include concrete, masonry, brush, vegetation, chemicals, batteries, electronics, liquid paint and tractor tires.  For more information, call 501-279-6200.

FFA Banquet & Auction

The Guy-Perkins FFA 2021 Alumni Banquet and Auction will be held Saturday, April 24th at 6:30pm at the Guy-Perkins School, located at 492 Highway 25 North in Guy.  There will be a free BBQ dinner and an auction.  Proceeds will go to provide leadership training and experiences for students.

Music on the Lawn

The Central Baptist College Fine Arts Department will present Music on the Lawn Monday, April 26th beginning at 6pm at Central Baptist College, located at 1501 College Avenue in Conway.  The Chamber Choir, Concert Band, Handbell Choirs, Jazz Band, singers, women’s chorus and Worship Choir will all perform.  This will be an outdoor, socially distanced event.  Everyone is invited to attend and bring a blanket or lawn chair.  Admission is free.  For more information, call 501-329-6873.

 

Events for Saturday, May 1st

Benefit Vendor Fair

The Shop with The Call Spring Craft Fair will be held Saturday, May 1st from 9am – 5pm at the West Race Baptist Church, located at 1009 West Race in Searcy.  Admission to the craft fair.  Vendors can sign up by emailing whitecounty@thecallinarkansas.org.  Proceeds will help The Call continue the mission of recruiting, training and supporting foster and adoptive families in White County.

Spring Family Day

Everyone is invited to celebrate Batesville’s bicentennial year at the Old Independence Regional Museum’s Annual Spring Family Day Saturday, May 1st at 10am at the museum, located at 380 South 9th Street in Batesville.  Demonstrations will include spinning and wool working, crocheting, cooking over a fire and pressing hay bales.  Children will also be able to create old-fashioned toys and play games.  This is a free event for the whole family.  For more information, call 870-793-2121.

Free Band Concert

The Clinton Yellowjacket Band will host the Clinton Bands Spring Concert Thursday, May 6th at 6pm at the Clinton High School Auditorium.  Admission is free and everyone is invited to attend.

 

Events for Saturday, May 22nd

Cupcakes and Characters

The Fairfield Bay Area Chamber of Commerce will host Cupcakes and Characters Saturday, May 22nd from 10am – 12 noon at the Chamber of Commerce, located at 365 Dave Creek Parkway in Fairfield Bay.  Parents are invited to bring their children out to enjoy a cupcake and refreshments, and take pictures with all kinds of characters.  This is a free event, but donations will be taken for playground equipment for Shirley Schools, the Fairfield Bay Animal Protection League and the Van Buren County Literacy Council.

 

Events for Saturday, May 29th

Benefit Truck, Bike and Car Show

The 2021 Automotive Evolution Truck, Bike and Car Show will be held from 9am – 2pm Saturday, May 29th at the New Life Church, located at 3400 West Main Street in Cabot.  All makes, models and years are welcome.  The entry fee for judging is $20.  The entry fee for display only is $10.  All proceeds will go to Beyond Boundaries, a non-profit equine assisted therapy program.

 

Events for Friday, June 4th

Benefit Fish Fry

The 2021 Devin Reynolds Youth Scholarship Fish Fry will be held Friday, June 4th at 7pm at Sherwood Forest, located at 1111 West Maryland Avenue in Sherwood.  Tickets are $25 each.  All proceeds will create opportunities for underprivileged kids to attend faith-based youth summer camps focused on fostering positive change in children in Central Arkansas.

Scholarship Gala 2021

Central Baptist College will host its 2nd Annual Scholarship Gala Saturday, June 5th at 6pm at the Conway Expo Center, located at 2501 East Oak Street in Conway.  The black-tie optional event will be a celebration of patriotism and faith.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the Central Baptist College Scholarship Fund.  For more information, call 501-205-8934.

Youth Fishing Derby

Arkansas Game & Fish and Jacksonville Parks and Recreation will sponsor the 24th Annual Youth Fishing Derby Saturday, June 19th beginning at 7am at the Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex, located at 2800 Graham Road in Jacksonville.  Fishing enthusiasts ages 15 and under are invited.  Prizes will be awarded.  Admission is free.  For more information, call 501-982-4171.

 

Events for Friday, July 2nd

Freedom Fest on the Lake

The Heber Springs Area Chamber of Commerce will hold the First Annual Freedom Fest on the Lake Friday, July 2nd and Saturday, July 3rd at Sandy Beach on Greers Ferry Lake.  Activities will begin Friday, July 2nd at with a trap shoot from 9am – 5pm, followed by musical entertainment that evening.  Activities on Saturday, July 3rd will begin with a 5K race, followed by the World Championship Cardboard Boat Races at 10am.  The event will conclude with a fireworks extravaganza at 9:30pm.  Admission to the event is free.

 

Events for Sunday, July 4th

Big Bang on the Range

Jacksonville Parks and Recreation will hold Big Bang on the Range 2021 Sunday, July 4th at the Arkansas Game & Fish Trap Shooting Complex, located at 2800 Graham Road in Jacksonville.  Gates will open at 5pm with live music and fun for the kids.  There will be inflatables, a mobile gaming station, a rock climbing wall and a Spider Jump Station.  The fireworks display will begin at 9pm.  For more information, call 501-982-4171.

The 2021 Veterans Appreciation Day Truck, Bike and Car Show will be held Saturday, September 18th at McArthur Church, located at 3501 John Harden Road in Jacksonville.  Registration will be held from 8am – 11am.  All makes, models and years are welcome.  The entry fee for judging is $20.  The entry fee for display only is $10.  All proceeds will go to veterans.
