Events for Friday, August 16th 

 

Lionfest

Lionfest will be held Friday, August 16th at 5:30pm at Searcy Lion Stadium.  Admission to the event will be $5 per person.  A meal is included with the admission price.  There will be activities for the kids, recognition of Searcy High School Athletics and performances by the Searcy High School Band, the varsity cheerleaders and the Lionsteppers.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Benefit Concert

The Batesville Downtown Foundation will host a free concert Friday, August 16th at the Main Street Loft, located on the 3rd floor at 267 East Main Street in Batesville.  The doors will open at 6:30pm and the music will start at 7pm.  Refreshments will be served.  Admission is free.  Donations will be accepted to help pay for the final construction phase of Maxfield Park.

 

Events for Saturday, August 17th 

Summer Saturday at the Village

Summer Saturday at the Village will be held Saturday, August 17th at Pioneer Village, located at 1200 Higginson Street in Searcy.  Volunteers will be available from 10am – 2pm for guided tours of the village.  Admission is free.  Donations will be greatly appreciated.

Monster Fun Nights

Granges Monster Fun Nights will continue Saturday, August 17th at 7pm with Galen Harp, the 2106 World Champion Juggler and the Director of the Institute of Jugglology.  This free show will take place at the Terry Scoggins Memorial Stage on Front Street in downtown Newport.  Everyone is invited to attend.

 

Events for Tuesday, August 20th 

PeeWee Football and Cheerleading Signup

The Searcy Optimist Club will hold signups for PeeWee Football and Cheerleading Tuesday, August 20th and Thursday, August 22nd from 6pm – 7:30pm each evening at the Searcy Optimist Field.  The cost will be $50 per player or cheerleader.  The signups are open to children in 3rd grade – 6th grade.

 

Events for Thursday, August 22nd 

PeeWee Football and Cheerleading Signup

The Searcy Optimist Club will hold signups for PeeWee Football and Cheerleading Thursday, August 22nd from 6pm – 7:30pm at the Searcy Optimist Field.  The cost will be $50 per player or cheerleader.  The signups are open to children in 3rd grade – 6th grade.

Hunter Education Class

An Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Hunter Education Course will be offered Saturday, August 31st from 8:30am – 6:30pm at the UACCB Nursing Allied Health Building, Rooms 927 and 928, located at 2005 White Drive in Batesville.  Anyone born on or after January 1, 1968 is required to complete this class in order to hunt in Arkansas.  For more information, visit www.agfc.com.

Events for Saturday, Sept. 7th 

White River Water Carnival

The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce will present the 76th White River Water Carnival Saturday, September 7th beginning at 10am at Riverside Park in Batesville.  This is a free event that features the region’s largest car show, the Arkansas State BBQ Championship, vendors, yard games, a kid zone, a giant water slide, music and water sports demonstrations on the White River. 

 

Events for Saturday, Sept. 14th 

Benefit Spaghetti Dinner

Team Walking Warriors will host a Benefit Spaghetti Dinner Saturday, September 14th from 5pm – 7:30pm at the Heber Springs Nazarene Church, located at 206 South 8th Street in Heber Springs.  There will also be a dessert auction.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.  Proceeds will go to Relay for Life. 

 

Events for Saturday, Sept. 21st 

Benefit Car Show

The 5th Annual Shine Your Ride Car Show to benefit the Sunshine School will be held Saturday, September 21st from 8am – 3pm at 301 South Poplar Street in Searcy.  The show is open to all makes and models.  The entry fee is $20 for vehicles to be judged and $10 for vehicles just on display.  There will also be door prizes, music and food.  Proceeds will benefit the Sunshine School in Searcy.

 

Events for Friday, Sept. 27th 

FestiVille

Jacksonville Parks and Recreation will host the 7th Annual FestiVille Friday, September 27th from 3pm – 10pm and Saturday, September 28th from 9am – 10pm at Dupree Park, located at 1700 Redmond Road in Jacksonville.  There will be carnival rides, games, a 5K, a volleyball tournament, canoe rides, a kids area, live entertainment and more.  Admission and parking are free.  For more information, visit www.CityOfJacksonville.net.

Events for Saturday, Oct. 5th 

Hunter Education Class

Benefit CoEd Softball Tournament

Junior Auxiliary of Searcy will host a Benefit CoEd Softball Tournament Saturday, October 5th beginning at 9am at the CoEd Softball Fields, located on Queensway Street in Searcy.  Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams.  The registration fee is $200 per team.  There is no registration fee to watch the event.  There will also be concessions.  All proceeds will go to Angel Tree.  For more information, call 501-230-9421. 

 

Events for Saturday, Oct. 12th 

Ol Skool Unity Truck Show

The Jesse Dylan James Foundation will hold the Ol Skool Unity Truck Show will be held Saturday, October 12th and Sunday, October 13th at the White County Fairgrounds, located on Davis Drive in Searcy.  The gates will open at 10am each day.  There will be great looking rigs, live music and all kinds of activities all weekend long.  On Sunday, October 13th, a truck convoy called the Run for Jesse will leave Searcy for Little Rock.  Everyone is invited to come out and support the cause by bringing a toy for Toys for Tots.

 

Events for Saturday, Oct. 19th 

Benefit Car Show

The Harvest Fest Car Show will be held Saturday, October 19th on North 2nd Street in downtown Augusta.  The show is open to all cars, trucks and bikes that are 1994 models and older.  The registration fee is $20 per vehicle.  Registration will be held from 8am – 12 noon.  Awards will be handed out in more than a dozen categories.  All proceeds will benefit Forgotten Augusta, a non-profit organization that works to keep the heritage of Augusta alive.  For more information, call 501-388-2057.

Benefit Car & Bike Show

The Tumbling Shoals/Ida Fire Department will sponsor the Charlie Johnson Memorial Car & Bike Show Scholarship Fundraiser Saturday, October 19th from 9am – 2pm at the Heber Springs Community Center, located at 201 Bobbie Jean Lane in Heber Springs.  Entries for the car and bike show are $20 each.  Spectators can attend the show for free.  There will also be door prizes and food.  For more information, call 501-206-5636.
