Events for Tuesday, Aug. 25th

Searcy Youth Soccer Registration

The Searcy Youth Soccer In-Person Registration will be held Tuesday, August 25th from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at the Carmichael Center, located at 801 South Elm Street in Searcy.  Registration is open to all kids born no later than December 31st, 2017.  The registration fee is $70 for kids born from 2015 – 2017 and $90 for kids born from 2003 – 2014.

Drive-Thru Job Fair

The Central Arkansas Workforce Development Area will host a Drive-Thru Job Fair Thursday, August 27th from 9am – 11am at the Arkansas Workforce Center in Conway.  You will be able to drive through and get a bag full of information about job opportunities in your community.  Bring plenty of resumes. 

 

Events for Saturday, September 5th

Classics & Antiques on the Square

The 4th Annual Classics & Antiques on the Square Car Show will be held Saturday, September 5th on Court Square in downtown Searcy.  Registration will be held from 8am – 12 noon and awards will be handed out at 2:30pm.  The registration fee is $20 per vehicle for judging or $10 per vehicle to display only. All vehicles must be 1995 or older.  All proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Searcy.

 

Events for Monday, Sept. 7th

Benefit Golf Tournament

The Cabot Lions Club will host their Annual Memorial Golf Classic Monday, September 14th with a shotgun start at 1pm at Cabot’s Rolling Hills Country Club, located on Mount Carmel Road.  Entry fees for the four-person scramble will be $100 per person or $400 per team, which includes greens fees, golf cart, two mulligans and a to-go steak and baked potato dinner.  There will also be door prizes.  All proceeds will go to the Cabot Lions Club.  The deadline to enter is Monday, September 7th.  For more information, call 501-920-2122.

Blood Drive

An American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held Thursday, September 10th from 1pm – 5pm at the First United Methodist Church, located at 404 West Ash Street in Brinkley.  For more information, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.

 

Events for Saturday, September 12th

White River Water Carnival

The 77th White River Water Carnival will be held Saturday, September 12th beginning at 11am at Riverside Park in Batesville.  There will be live music, watersports, food trucks, a classic car show, a BBQ championship, kid activities, arts and crafts, and more. 

Free Movie in the Park

ASU-Newport’s Movies in the Park will be held Saturday, September 12th at 8pm in downtown Newport.  In order to practice safe social distancing, the Movies in the Park will be a drive-in showing, where you can watch the movie from the comfort of your car.  The motion picture “Mulan” will be shown.  Admission is free.

FestiVille

Jacksonville Parks and Recreation will host the 8th Annual FestiVille Friday, September 25th from 3pm – 7pm and Saturday, September 26th from 9am – 7pm at Dupree Park, located at 1700 Redmond Road in Jacksonville.  There will be carnival rides, games, live entertainment, a volleyball tournament, a petting zoo, canoe rides, fireworks and more.  Admission and parking are free.  For more information, call 501-982-4171.

Free Movie in the Park

ASU-Newport’s Movies in the Park will be held Saturday, October 3rd at 8pm in downtown Newport.  In order to practice safe social distancing, the Movies in the Park will be a drive-in showing, where you can watch the movie from the comfort of your car.  The motion picture “The Addams Family” will be shown.  Admission is free.

The Mountain View Area Chamber of Commerce will hold the 38th Annual Arkansas Bean Fest and Championship Outhouse Race Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, October 24th in downtown Mountain View.  Friday’s activities will include arts and crafts and live music on the Courthouse Square.  Saturday’s activities will include live music, a beans and cornbread meal, a parade or outhouses, the outhouse race and more.  For more information, call 870-269-8068.
